It is a small quilt but one very big pillow measuring about 35" square.
This started in April when I took a class in Paducah at Quilt Week with Jacquie Gering. I wanted a project that wasn't too big and preferably one with a purpose. I had seen the giant pillows that Crazy Mom Quilts made and knew this would be a great gift for my niece.
I put it aside to work on other things over the summer but took it to a retreat and quilted it. Doing those circles was a little harder than I thought it would be. I used up all my small pieces of batting but it still was not quite enough. It needs some more stuffing but that should not be an issue as I do have plenty of time.
This also got the stamp of approval from the very helpful 17 year old that it was pretty cool and where is mine???

Congrats on the finish. I love how you quilted it. I would just put a ribbon around it for wrapping. I am sure it will be loved.
ReplyDeleteLove this technique, congrats on the finishes!
ReplyDeleteI really like this pillow and especially the quilting. It looks really cool; hopefully I'll get to try spiral quilting soon! Great job!
