Fresh Sewing Day

A little behind with the Fresh Sewing Day link up.  We were out of town for the weekend as this was our last summer weekend for us before the kids started school today.  I am always sad when they have to go back.  I love summer break!  But I do like the routine that comes with school year.

So let's see what happened in August.

1.  Big finish was the Heart Quilt.  More here on that one.
2.  Blocks for Moda Friendship Blocks for my Moda Club
3.  I spy blocks
4.  Tula Blocks
5.  A bee block.

Not too bad for the month.  Lots of small pieces and blocks.  The heart quilt was a lot of quilting but fun to do.

Head over to Lily's Quilt for the Fresh Day link up and see what others have been working on in August.

March Meet Up

March

1. Moda Bee Blocks-6, 2. scrap vomit - done, 3. Bee Block - Erin, 4. Shine 2, 5. pouch, 6. Bee Test Block, 7. Civil War Sampler, 8. Easy Street - layout

I had lots of sewing time plus a quilt retreat in there this month but not so sure April will be as productive since once the weather gets nicer it is harder to be inside.  The Scrap Vomit and Moda Sampler I completed this month and then Easy Street and Shine are in the flimsy stage awaiting borders, backs and quilting.  I have the borders figured out but not yet sure on backs and how they will be quilted.  I am hoping I can get them done this month.  I am pretty sure Easy Street is going to be sent out so I think its possible.

So this is the first time I was able to figure out the Mosaic thing.  Really wanted this to end up bigger but didn't want to mess with it anymore.  I was glad to have figured it out!  That's a step in the right direction.

I'll have to see what others have been up to!

Fresh Sew Day-February Recap

So I was thinking to myself, what did I get done? All I know is I still have a lot to finish for the 1st quarter with the goals I set for myself.  I really want to get some UFO's and WIP's done but when they seem to take too long I really want to start something new!  So here is what I did get done in February:

I also made a few Scrap Vomit blocks but only the A blocks and until I get some B blocks done - just not that exciting to show.

So looks I am getting a few things done and I did get to start something new with both my Bee and the Moda Club blocks.  I guess just writing it down and putting it into a list really is helping me keep focused.  Or least I will keep telling my self that!

This weekend needs to be very productive since a week from today I am going to a Quilt Retreat with my LQS so very excited.  I am trying to be realistic in what I will be able to accomplish so that I don't bring too much so we'll see how that works out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you come back to visit.  I am linking up to Lily's Quilts for both Fresh Sew Day and Small Blog Meet.  I am off to visit a few sites myself!

Happy Sewing!

Finish it up Friday

I did finally make a small finish last night.  I have wanted to make 2 binder covers for my quilt groups I go to at my LQS.  I did get one of the two done.  I had this fabric selected and in a nice stack since last year.  I still like it but need to get it made before I forgot what I wanted to do.

I should have taken a photo of the back too. I just did string piecing in the back.

Here are the other things that were done in January and linking up at Lily's Quilts for Fresh Sew day.

1.  Some scrap vomit blocks
2.  Easy Street Block A's
3.  Finished Wiggly Whimsy read about it here.
4. Summerville - waiting to be quilted.

What I need to do is figure out the mosaics.  I start but somehow something doesn't work for me and I just don't take the time to stay after it.  Technical difficulties are not my strong point.  I thought I had it but just no go.

I need to get going on some more finishes for Quarter one too.  I think I am going to try A Lovely Year of Finishes and Tracy Jae, just three.  So we will see how that goes.

Linking up at Crazy Mom Friday Finishes, Fresh Sewing Day and Small Blog Meet.  What a great way to see what everyone is working on so go check them out.

Happy Sewing!
